Oh docket, where art thou?

While we're on the topic of the Georgia Supreme Court clerk, we note with sadness Ms. Welch's notice on the Court's website that the docket system is not working. We anxiously await the return of the online docket so that we can return to obsessively checking it for news in our cases.

UPDATE: As of June 8, 2006, the docket system is back online.

Sherie Welch to Retire

Sherie Welch, longtime clerk of the Georgia Supreme Court, is set to retire July 31, 2006, after 31 years with the Court. While the announcement of her retirement was made in April, the Supreme Court only more recently announced that it was seeking to fill a vacancy. Would-be clerks can view the job description here.

Amazingly, she is only the eighth clerk to have served the Court since 1846.
